How to Set up the WiFi Dimmer Swith?

Q1:Has anyone else had troubles with dimmable LED bulbs flickering while using this dimmer, even on the LED setting?

Answer:

There are dip switches on the front of the switch that is covered by the trim plate. Locate them and adjust those. Ours were originally flickering but making a different selection on the dip switches stopped it.

Q2:Does anybody know how to set dusk to dawn with the smart life app?

Answer:

Once you download the app there is a scene setting with allows, among its options to set for sunrise or sunset for individual controllers.

Q3:does the green digital display stay on constantly?

Answer:

Yes. It does

Q4:What is the Dip switch used for?

Answer:

The dip switch is set for the type of bulb that the switch is controlling. One position is for regular bulbs and sets the switch to vary the amount of power going to the bulb. Normally, the power going to the bulb at full on is 120 volts, and to dim the light, this is reduced in steps of 10% of 120. The first step down reduces the voltage to 108, 2nd to 94, 3rd to 82, ... etc.

Incandescents and dimmable led bulbs can handle this type of dimmer. Dimmable leds have the electronic circuitry to convert the power coming from the switch to the power going to the led itself, witch is a tiny fraction of the voltage coming from the switch.

Non=dimmable Leds are set up to only convert 120 volts to the voltage required by the led, which can be as low as 2 volts. So, if the switch has been set to 50%, it

is sending 60 volts to the led circuit which does not know how to convert 60 to 1 volt for an led, it will still be getting 2 volts and won’t dim at all. If the switch is sending only 1 volt, the results at the led will be unpredictable because the voltage has been reduced to below it’s proper operating voltage. It will flash on and off.

So, in conclusion, the dip switch setting for incandescent should be used if the bulb is incandescent or dimmable LED bulb, and LED for non-dimmable LEDs.
